Nice offer, but that is not a lot cheaper than resellers are doing it for anyway. Plus I think the 940 is poor value - the 740 is much better proposition unless you can really use the US maps. |

I think Tom Tom are losing the plot... After all of the communication I had a couple of months ago with them, regarding LMG on my then new Go 520..... they e-mailed me yesterday.. ( by name )... offering me discounted maps for my Go 920..... ????

If it's that much of a discount after 2 weeks, and if the 920 was released last December and has come down from £350? (originally, not sure about that bit) to less than £200 in 11 months, what will the 940 be at in another 10 months time, it is all a little strange.
Also if peole are going to upgrade to an x40 surely they are more likely to go for the 540 or maybe the 740 as roaming is not allowed on the x40s and so even if you had all the maps on your new 940 you couldn't use the other functionality if you drove abroad. If you previously had a 920 or 930 there is no point at all getting a 940 when your upgrade time came round, if your old machine still worked.
Reading that back it sort of makes sense!!
Cheers

I suppose you choose the 940 over the 740 if you want the EPT, Voice Commands and the FM. Not many people are going to use a GPS device in both Europe and the USA.
The 940 offer and the 740 are the same price if you buy from TomTom
You can still use the TMC (if you have one) when travelling. |

And don't forget the 940 is the only model that supports .mp3. _________________ Darren Griffin |

For £100, you could buy an iPod and have a better experience!
It will be interesting to see how wide they send this email. |

The email seemed to be aimed at the people who had taken out their traffic subscription (before you start I didn't know!!!!!!! OK )
Don't think I will be getting one, so...

Don't wish to be pessimistic but could TT be in financial trouble in the current climate and are looking to getting lots of sales in quick?
If so they'd do better to get everything working properly first otherwise the adverse publicity will do them more harm than good !
