Hi,

I have one of the original pocket PCs with TomTom installed.
Well, until 20mins ago it was fine. The sound went off, then the TomTom vanished from the main screen. I have never encountered this before and would love to know how to get it back! I can find a menu that allows programs to be removed but not installed.
I tried a Google and nothing really goes through the procedure.
I have been using TomTom on a spare SD card for years, it's a copy of the original one which is in the box!

Any ideas?

Use file explorer on the PDA and locate the folder named 2577, there will be a number of files within this depending upon version it could be two or possibly four.
Tap each one in turn which will install the application and plug ins for the nav software to work on the PDA - Mike

Hi !

Thanks for that, whatever I tapped worked - it took a few seconds and the TomTom logo is back on the main screen! Great stuff.
Now to get the sound working. I'm sure it's a faulty headphone socket, the contact isn't springing back again to make contact. I'll leave that as I can live without the sound for a few days! I'm going to buy another TomTom soon.
