I have just bought the new tom tom one 30 series with uk & roi maps loaded. Which set of safety cameras, Speed Zoned Complete (24 files), 'UK - Consolidated by type (Gatso, Mobile etc) or 'UK - Single file with all cameras' do i download and would they conflict with the cameras that are already pre-loaded by tom tom.
Thanks John |

Hi,
Check out the beginners guidehttp://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=17702, which is a sticky in the speed camera forum. It let's you know what's included in the downloads. Personally I've gone for the speed zoned complete and also the camera alerts voices.
The PGPSW files will work together with the TT speeed cams but it's pointless running both. I'd delete the TT cams from your TT and use the PGPSW camera alerts, they're much more comprehensive IMHO.
Hope this helps |

That's odd.. I was going to say "There's a "sticky" topic about it at the top of this forum, but it's gone! (Hopefully there's still a link from somewhere, guys!)
Anyway, the page with all the different voice packs is here:
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/speed-camera-and-poi-voice-alerts.php
You should be able to click on the picture to try a sample of each before you download the full set.
Make sure you get the correct version to match the database version you downloaded - speed-zoned, consolidated by type or single file. |

On the top menu, hover over 'Free POIs & More' then under 'other gps freebies' select 'customise your satnav'

Can I humbly suggest that a more prominent mention and links to the Custom voices AND custom icons should be added to the bottom of ALL the instructions linked to on the green and yellow compatibility table.
I was amazed when I re-read the TomTom instructions recently, and there was hardly any mention of voice alerts at all:
"Step 5 - If you have not taken advantage of our real voice alerts downloads (available here) then you should choose from the built-in alert sounds provided."
And the only mention of the custom icons is in a heading "Resources" at the bottom. No mention of what they are for at all.
Hardly "in your face" advertising is it!
Surely these is one of the main selling points of the PGPSW database over the competition? Not everyone reads the forums, they need to be WITH the download instructions. |

That's pretty much exactly what I was trying to say. But you have fleshed it out a bit for me. Thanks Andy |
