Yes, I updated mine earlier today just to keep up with plot. If the update does make any difference I have yet to find it. However, mine says v8.300. _________________ Tomtom Go 720.

Can you confirm if you are talking about an x20 model or an x40 model?
The only reason I ask is your sig states 720.
The 8.204 update was in referance to the x40 range. _________________ Graeme Bennett

I updated too, nothing I see is different.
I also updated the camera locations and now all camera locations on my route are being reported, before nothing was. Additionally accident blackspots etc. are also being reported.
I updated to the latest map using the latest map guarantee and post codes which weren't available before are available.
So it looks like all the functionality of the 540 is up and running for me at least... |

Sort of. There is no difference. The update changes some naming conventions in the software to bring it into line with other products apparently. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Looking to have a 740 tomorrow - first TT, but a little confused on the speed camera updating. A post above states they were downloaded on Tom Tom Home. Do you have to subscribe to this with a 740? I believe the mobile ones are updated via the SIM? |

As far as I'm aware the mobile sites are updated over the air manually, and the fixed ones are updated via HOME. Not sure why the update process is seperate certainly. _________________ Graeme Bennett

But is that a free upgrade on the Home site separate to say a 530 user? |

No. It's a part of the LIVE service available only to x40 owners. There is an initial three month free trial and then it is £7.99 per month thereafter. _________________ Darren Griffin |

It says in the manual on (P87 for the 940) "Tap this button to enable automatic updates for your list of mobile safety camera locations. The list of fixed safety cameras is not updated automatically as they don’t change as often as mobile cameras." |

Darren,
Sorry I may hae confused you re the speed Camera update. I am aware of the LIVE subscription, but if only mobile cameras are updated on LIVE SERVICE how are the fixed cameras updated . I can only see on the TT HOME the need for a Speed Camera subscription to allow updating ? Is this correct for the 40 series or I am missing a free update service somwhere for the 40 series? |
