I have a TomTom 730T with version 810 maps and version 805 maps on an SD card when going to manage maps it is not possible to tell which is which. I have seen on this forum and used but now cannot find instructions how to rename the card. Could someone be kind enough to give me idiot proof instructions how to do this please. _________________ Tom Tom 730, app 8.010, gps v1.21, boot 5.5010 map western & central europe v810.1940 |

Be aware that the latest version of Home looks at the name in the .pna file when it's deciding what map upgrade pricing to offer you.
It seems sensible to rename the older map but keep the name of your latest map unchanged so that Home will allow you to benefit from the discounted 12 month map upgrade offer should you choose to do so. _________________ Paul |

thanks for the link and also thanks for info regarding renaming maps i am only intending to rename the older map on the SD card so presume this will not cause any problems for the new map but i suppose that if that is the case any updates to the older map cannot be carried out is this correct? _________________ Tom Tom 730, app 8.010, gps v1.21, boot 5.5010 map western & central europe v810.1940 |

Map updates through mapshare still work on a map that has been renamed but the map subscription service does not work properly unless your latest map has it's original name.
You should have no problems if you leave your latest map unchanged. _________________ Paul |
