WRT to warnings if you do not check Warn on route I get a lot of false warnings. Given that a lot of mobile cameras sit on bridges and target the road below is that considered to be on the route ?
There seem to be a lot of Gantry cameras missing from the M42 e.g. both just before J6 northbound
Mobile camera 21163@40 - no idea why this a camera site
and 57607@70
and one last small point would it be possible to capitalise the file e.g.

Where cameras are seen on Motorway/Dual Carriageway bridges, these are sited either side so that they show on the relevant road itself. This was phased in as more Devices where able to use "Warn When on Route".
It might be that some early cameras are still shown on bridges, but there are few, if any, of them now.
There have been several Topics on the M42 cameras, which a Search will highlight. _________________ Richard

Depends on the device! For TT, yes. Personally I would rather live with the additional warnings than miss one.
As TT don't allow us to code for direction we're stuck with a system that is not as good as it could be.

We have had much discussion on the topic of M42 cameras. Before claiming there are many missing have a read here.

Why exactly?
Again why not?

Darren thanks for the replies
WRT to the 2 mobiles sites:
The first is 1/2 mile from home and I use that road a lot - never seen a camera there and it not on the list of sites from the local Scamera partnership
Ditto the second except that it's a bit further away !
Capitalisation is correct English and just looks more professional

regarding the capitalisation of the file names, in general, computer code is in all lowercase and as such so are the names of the files that we generate. it's not really a major issue, is it?!
MaFt
ps - yes, i know, i don't 'do' capitals |

Except in your sig....
....and if you DID decide to capitalise the filenames, it wouldn't be any extra work to put the "Gatso 30" bit at the front, would it?
davidsims... as for the two mobile sites, the usual thing we say is that if you always travel past the area at similar times every day, you MIGHT miss a police presence at a very particular time like the school run.
Obviously, at least two people have reported seeing a camera site there or it would never have made it into the database in the first place!
Also, the police certainly don't restrict themselves to the advertised Safety Partnership sites round my way.
Having said that, there are a pair of mobile sites on the A40 very near me, that I would love to see removed as I'm SURE there's never been a camera sited there. But the same situation applies! |

And once the purge date expires they will be removed _________________ Darren Griffin |

WRT to this being a potential camera site I know the local Police very well (after being "volunteered for the NHW coordinators role)
They have never targeted that site
(there is an SNT station at the camera site!) |

Now we know who they are, what do they do there, and why would they have been mistaken for a mobile? |

Based at 118 Heath Road (pictured). The premises is easily identifiable from Heath Road (almost opposite the main Hospital entrance). It is not a designated Police Station, but is used as a local base the team can operate from. Officers will be out and about in the community providing reassurance and dealing with ongoing issues. |

And let's not forget that more than one person submitted a report of a mobile? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I suppose it might be because people have seen lots of plods (or pretend plods) there, and I wonder if they have pointed hand helds for practice, even if the're not booking people. |
