How do I switch off the Traffic sidebar when I no longer have a TomTom Plus account.
I restored my PDA while trialling TomTom Traffic and now that the subscription has expired cannot get rid off the traffic sidebar.
When I try to configure TomTom Traffic my subscription has expired so I cannot adjust the settings.
There must be some trick to do this, is there a config file I can delete or something?
This is TTN6.010 on a HTC Touch (T-Mobile MDA Compact) |

Tap the sidebar, then select Disable Traffic (may be on second page). |

Tapping the sidebar just gives the option 'Update Traffic Info'. The Show Traffic Info item is disabled. Would be nice if it was that easy. |

Start TTN / Tap Screen / Tap Tom Tom Traffic / Tap Disable Traffic
Unless I'm misunderstanding and you no longer have the traffic icon in menu options. _________________ Mike

What happens is I Tap Tom Tom Traffic and it requests my username and password. It then tries to login to the Tom Tom Plus system and returns with
"The trial subscription to this service has expired. You can renew your subscription at www.tomtom.com.
Error code: 2029"
So I am still stuck with the traffic bar. I am hoping someone can point me in the direction of a config file or something it uses to know to display the Tom Tom Traffic.
Thanks for the help so far. |

It's probably something really simple but i can't think of it.
Have you tried Tom Tom Support?

Found a solution
I renamed the Traffic.Inc file and Traffic.dat file to Traffic.incold and Traffic.datold respectively and the Traffic bar no longer appears.
TomTom itself has since created a new Traffic.inc file so I guess that was the troublesome one. |

Well spotted. I've seen this issue a few times before but not having TTN anymore I was unable to assist. _________________ Darren Griffin |
