Does anyone know how to rollback the firmware on their ONE XL.
Just wondering if there is a method of restoring it to it's original out of box firmware state in case I have any problems with the firmware update that I did yesterday.
Any help appreciated.
Many thanks. |

By far the best way is to make your own full backups at every stage, i.e. BEFORE you make any changes.
There are a few previous versions of software available on Oldboy's site HERE, but they are no comparison to just restoring a backup.
Instructions for making proper backups with Windows Explorer are in the FAQs at the top of this forum section. Do not use TT Home for backing up. |

Thanks for your reply Andy_P.
I didn't think to do a backup before updating as I assume the updates are stable, anyhow, what version of firmware from Oldboy's site do you recommend for my ONE XL.
Many thanks. |

You should ALWAYS keep backups..... if anything goes wrong during an update (and it does) you may lose your map, and there is no way to replace that without buying a new one.
Do you have any idea what version you had before you updated?
I have done a list of what software was repeased for what models HERE. Have a read through that....
At a quick glance, I would suggest you try v.162 from Oldboy's site (ignore the fact it says it is for the x00 series, it was for the One XL too), that's a pretty good/stable release.
There was a later v7.167 for the One XL, but Oldboy only seems to have v7.166 which was for the One 3rd Ed. only.
BACKUP before you start messing..... |

The versions for download are there because users have made the other links available to me. _________________ Richard
