I must admit I had not realised that maps could be imported into RA. Have you tried this and if so where did you get the maps from?
So you don’t need to buy any more maps at the exorbitant prices OS and MM charge.
Please tell me more!!!!
All the best Dave |

Hi,
Road Angel 7000 adventure.
Thought I'd just test the battery life in optimum conditions.
Charged up through the night (fully charged).
Screen set to switch off after 30secs,
Switched on at 9.00.Used 3 to 4 times each ½ hour (as you would in the wild)
Battery needs charging message just after 11.00 (2 hours)
Battery dead by 11.30 (won’t switch on)
Am I unlucky or is this normal?
Most users of RA say about 2 ½ hours use. |

This subthread really belongs in the Memory Map section where you'll find lots more info on the RA7000.
On my RA7000 I get 4 hours battery life with screen save set to 30 secs and backlight set to 80% so it looks like you've got a duff battery. I also now use an external battery pack so get over 10 hours continuous.
Yes Memory Map can use maps in many formats including standard bitmaps such as jpeg and tif. Memory Map European Edition (free download) allows you to self calibrate these which can then be used in Memory Map OS Edition.
Cheers
