Hi,
My TT 520 SHOULD be waiting for me when I get home *fingers crossed*. I'd quite like to purchase a 1 year license for the PGPSW camera database but I've got a few q's first:
a) If I follow the guides to install them do I need to disable the inbuilt TomTom ones? If so, how do I do this?
b) To save space can I remove the TomTom ones infavour of these? Saves a bit of space if I'm going to disable them anyway. How can I do this?
c) If I leave them enabled will I get two warnings? One from TT and one from the PGPSW database?
d) If I were to use only the PGPSW database is there any functionality I'd lose compared to the TomTom one? Any missing cameras? Any loss of other warnings, etc? Would I loose any functionality such as a directional speed camera info (Eg, which carriageway).
Would love to hear from you about this.
Cheers. |

Please start be having a read through the FAQ page which can be found by clicking Here - and do the Windows Explorer backup BEFORE you do anything else.
Your new toy will come supplied with the TT Safety Camera Database installed, you can leave this on the device for comparison purposes against the Speed Camera Database from this site. After a week or two when you have decided which is best you can remove the TomTom Safety Cameras by following one of the guides on the FAQ page (linked to above).
If you run both databases side by side you will get warnings for some cameras but certainly not all of them, as for directional capability the TomTom doesn't offer this when using either its own database or the one from this site. I hope that goes someway to answering your questions - Mike |

Hi,
Thanks for the reply... Some very useful info there!
If/when I remove the original TomTom speed camera files, is it possible to reinstall them if I ever feel the need (Without having to pay any money)?
Cheers. |

Yes you can simply copy the TomTom Safety Camera Database files to your PC before deleting them from the device, if you want ot try them at some later data just copy them back to the map folder on the device - Mike |
