Just wondering if anyone else has seen this before.
I recently bought a Go530. But it has an annoying habit.......
When I switch the unit on everything is fine, gets the GPS signal nice and quickly, i put in my destination, its plans, I start driving, everyone is happy. Then for no apparent reason, it decides to reset itself, boots up again and my destination is no longer planned. It is in the list of recent destinations, so I pick it from there and for the rest of the journey it is fine.
It doesn't do this everytime, but enough to be annoying. Probably 1 in 3 journeys this happens.
Anyone else seen this? Any thoughts?
I really don't want to have to return the unit, I bet Tom Tom will want it sent to them for repair. I did that a while back and it took them 2 months to replace the power button on my old 510.....
Cheers

Could be a memory problem. Is it happening on longer journeys?
The TomTom needs some spare memory for temporary files. If it runs out when trying to write a new instruction, the unit will reboot.
Check the size of the data on your card, and the free space.
If it looks OK, check that you don't have any deleted files in the recycle bin which could still be there taking up room in the memory. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Thanks for the advice.
Seems to happen regardless of what length of route I plot. Once it has happened (always in the first minute or two) then it never happens again on that journey.
The TT internal memory is 370Mb used, 607Mb free. Apart from adding the PGPSW speed camera POI's the unit is exactly as it came out of the box. |

Do you have an "out of the box" backup you can return to just in case anything got messed up while you were moving files around adding the camera data?
Have you tried a reset (with a pin in the reset hole)? - This won't lose any of your personal settings.
Have you tried a "return to factory settings" (from the menu?) - this will mean you have to re-do your settings.
Have you tried the "ClearFlash" tool?
Have you tried reinstalling the software? |

Hi Andy
I have tried most of those, haven't tried the clear flash tool, will give that a go now.
When you say reinstall software.... do you mean copy the files off the TT internal memory and put them back? |
