hey all
just bought a garmin 200w
i was under the impression they gave some kind of alert /warning if you exceed the speed limit?
is there such a function and how do i enable it |

the 70 series (and possibly the 600 and newer 8/9 series) will tell you when you are above the speed limit recorded in the map data. from my experience with a 710 this was confined to a few motorways...
however, if you are after warnigns when you are speeding near a speed camera then you can either pay garmin £39 for a year for uk cameras or subscribe here for £19 for worldside (40 countries) coverage.

right , i might sign up for the £19 thingy ( where to i get info ?)
maybe you can offer some more advice?
when i set it to direct me from A to B , i dont get the speed displayed in the lower corner ?? id like that if possible
i can switch to a display with no map that has a speedo ... and if its just displaying a map (no directions) it has the speed on the screen ...but not when its directing me

when navigating you cant see your current speed... unless you press the bottom left corner to view the trip computer but then you cant see the map!
if you click on 'subscribe' at the top it will give you all the info you need for registering.
