Seems a very basic website for something that offers so much.
Also it only gives a few models of compatability seeing all the gps devices on the market.
Is a PDA ( XDA in particular ) covered with this?
I am only suspicious as if you need to send them data, how do we know whats leaving our device? - files, etc ???
Does it need a GPRS always on service to work ? - will good ole WAP do ?
Thanks

I'm sure WAP would do, but CSD would work out horribly expensive. _________________ G1NTX AFRIN LRPS |

What device & OS did you run this on?
Call me paranoid, but I'm not sure what they get out of this as it all appears to be free, but it must have cost them some $$s to set it all up and maintain the service. That said I'd be interested to give it a try sometime to see how well it works.
Cheers,

I've tried it on the iPhone and BlackBerry, and am looking at developing clients for it for MTX-65+G (http://www.tdc.co.uk/index.php?key=matrix), they are thinking of opening up the API.
We already run logging and tracking software on these devices, linking to Streetmap, Flash Earth or Google Earth for example, but this service looks to be excellent.
I'm sure they will be able to monetise it with advertising - much like Streetmap, a free service too. _________________ G1NTX AFRIN LRPS |
