hi,
does anyone know when the new version 8.00 maps will come out for the XL models ,not the new ones with the folding mount, i am thinking of getting a XL model tomtom, and would prefer it to have the new maps/software, so that i can update to the new map within the 30 days of purchase, with the map guarantee, thanks for any info anyone can give |

The summer sale is still on and this was originally due to end July 31st, but no date has been given for the end of the extension.
It is unlikely that any new maps will be released before the discount period ends and somebody recently mentioned that TomTom had told them that new maps would be issued at the end of the year.
It may be worth keeping an eye on the situation and seeing if there are new maps available closer to the end of your 30 day LMG period.
If v8 maps haven't been released, v720 are identical to v805 maps data-wise - although the v720 maps don't contain the Advanced Lane Guidance or Reality View data. _________________ Andy

I have seen nothing to suggest the lane assist/ reality view will be made available to the One range, only TomTom could answer, this but of late they have been lowering the feature content on the lower end of the range - Mike |

Reality View is the full screen image which appears at some junctions - or at least that's what I'm led to believe it is.
IQ Route isn't really that clever - weekday is classified as weekday even in the early hours of the morning when there could be less traffic than at the weekend. So, there are weekday routes and weekend routes and these are not sub-divided into different time periods _________________ Andy

Ah, I thought ALG/reality view were the same thing, didn't realise the difference.
Shame about the IQ times, I guess that's something they could fix in a firmware update (with a new model number :p) |
