If i pay the subscriptions for the safety cameras via PayPal, how long will it take to process and be able to download the safety camera data. I am leaving for France tomorrow and would like to install before leaving home.
Thanks Jacko. |

I'm a little late but as has been said by jonnyv, activation is normally instant. If not or you experience any other issues, fire off an email to subscriptionsATpocketgpsworld.com and we will normally be able to resolve within a few minutes _________________ Darren Griffin |

If you're using a TomTom, you can set up a route past a camera or two on the map and then run a route "demo" to check all the warnings are working as you'd like. (Keep the demo speed below 300% though or the audio stops) |

Andy, Did as you say and it seems to work ok, will give it a full test tomorow and set the warning distances. I suppose that is up to the individual as to what the distances should be, a bit of trial and error i suppose.
Many thanks, Jacko |

Don't forget to Double the distance for Mobiles and PMobiles, they can catch you from quite a way off. _________________ Audi A3 Sline sat nav |

And the quick and easy way to remember, that a lot of us use, is 10yards for every MPH for fixed cameras.
So for a 30 mph camera 300yds warning, 40mph = 400 yards etc.
And as Tanda says, double that for mobiles. |

Thanks everyone for there help, been out today with it and everything seems ok.
I know that it used to be legal to use sat nav with safety cameras installed in France, is that still the case.
Many thanks, Jacko |

It was and still is permitted to use GPS based solutions. Laser and Radar is not however permitted and if caught you risk confiscation of the device and a hefty fine.
I'll be in France next week and have my devices loaded up and ready to do _________________ Darren Griffin |
