Firstly have you done any updates recently !!!
Sometimes if you have not used the sat nav for a while it can take longer to get a fix and make sure you are outside when trying!!!
You can try doing a reset with a paper clip that can sort out many problems and is always worth a go before doing anything else |

hi again.have tried usual stuff like reset etc.was bought on ebay as a gift.have no other info on make or model.took it to halfords to the tech guy,and he told me there was no way to connect it to another sat nav to do a manual update or such like as it didnt have a port? for this purpose unlike other s.navs.he then kindly directed me here to you good folks.by the way when i try to configure gps and select tom tom the symbol shows a key and four zeros.could this be relevant?thanks again. _________________ i think were going round in circles! |

Ah, E-Bay, do you have a link to the product you purchased? - if we can read the advert it will give us a clue as to what the hardware actually is that you are trying to use.
10 out of 10 for the local Halfords store though, at least they are offering decent advice - Mike |

Can you take a picture of the device with the software running showing the screen with the key on it, then e-mail me the picture using my e-mail button below this post.
If we can identify the software/ hardware it will be a start to get your unit up and running - Mike |

Items on eBay that have absolutely nothing to do with TomTom OFTEN include "TomTom" in the title, just to get people's attention or to improve their chances of appearing on a search.! |
