I haven't connected my 520 to TomTom home for over 2 months as I have been away and have bought a new PC and had to spend some time getting everry thing to work with Vista
Just updated my 520 and it offered me a new application version 8.010. Problem is that O thought that was for the x30 series
Should I be downloading this. I have tried searchinmg on 8.010 and 520 together but can find no other posts
Any help or advice welcome
Thanks |

Is it worth me downloading it |

i dont think so i believe it was issues with missing buttons etc as the x30 units are ever so slightly to the x20 but im not 100% on that |

It's a valid release for your unit, but lots of people don't like some of the 'improvements'l it gives you.
Make sure you have a full backup (done with Windows Explorer not Home) before you update, so you can go back to v7 if you don't like it. |

The reason given for it's disappearance was that people were confused that it offered the icons for Advanced Lane guidance when the maps required weren't available tox20 users yet - even though that was explained when you tapped on the menu item.
But apparently, the re-released version was exactly the same... |

as i said dont quote me on what i said andy is right there, the lane guidance is only supported by v8xx maps so if you have v6xx or v7xx it wont work but wont cause any inconveience either |
