I am plannig on buying a go530 but before i do i'm just wondering about using v7 style maps with it.
I'm going to be spending a while driving round New Zealand, but the only map avalible is the v7 style map.
I know that the advanced lane stuff wont work, but will i still be able to use the map just with out that functionality?
Thanks. |

I can't say categorically "yes", but older maps have always worked with newer software up to now (with the exception of trying to use one of the rare TomTom Navteq maps on a machine that was not designed for them).
P.S. Did you know there's a section of this forum specially for TomTom questions? You might get quicker/better answers there.

The software should work fine i did this for a while and still am with my old 910.
I wouldn't worry too much about lane guidance as kiwi roads don't do lanes. |

Hi Just to confirm the latest New Zealand map is 725.1885 (free map update) TomTom is only showing 711 on the web so don't know when 725 will be available to download. Works 100% with Navcore 8.10 as for lane guidance, not available on V7 maps don't know if they will release V8 for NZ would be handy around Auckland and Wellington as most roads are 3 to 4 lanes in those areas but you do get plenty of warning via normal road signs as to which lane you need to be in.
cheers

That's OK, it can be confusing!
