yes the 1 month option was removed due the high level of piracy that we experienced at the moment there is only the yearly option but at £19 its still a bargin.
if you decide to go for it then id use the nochex payment personally as its quicker _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

The £2 a month option was removed some time back to reduce the issue of Piracy, with £19 to loose this has seen a significant reduction in illegal copys of the database - Mike |

Have you "Been Away", so to speak? The monthly subs option was dropped last September, so did you get 18 months? Do beware, there are an awful lot more speed cameras out there now, so you could be "going away" again if you're not careful!

Yeh I have - Sept is probably when I last updated and I used Paypal too as I took my CarPC out around Dec and its just gone back in....
I'd do the 12 months version but I'm not sure if my new front end ( http://www.fluxmedia.com/ ) will ever support it so I wanted to use some thing just for the mo while I convince them its a good idea.
Top that off I'm not that good at remembering to update - how ever if some one was to write a PC app to auto download for me I'd be more than happy about 12 months.
Re the last funny comment - the trick is not to drive fast.... I use them because there are so many ambiguas cameras out there that when you see them you think, is it 30,40 or 50 and end up slamming the ancers on any way....
I've always said they need the speed on the back of the camera to stop this....

The trick is to tick the "watch this topic for replies" box at the bottom of the announcement topic in the "Dedicated subscribers' forum".
http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=39307 (That link will only work if you are a subscriber)
Then you get an email every time MaFt posts to say a new version has been released. |

Hi, I only need to update my speed cameras every 6 months or so when I go on a long journey (I haven't updated for ages!). The monthly option would have been ideal for me. I don't want to subscribe for a 12 month period as I think that £19 for 1 or 2 downloads is a little steep (in my opinion anyway).
Would it not possible to have a subscription that still costs the £19 to deter pirates, but lets you choose when to download a speed camera database (up to a maximum of 12 different months)? |

from memory i think that was looked at (£19 for 12 downloads as opposed to 12months) but i think it was decided against for technical reasons as well as the fact that if you have 2 or 3 devices (garmin, tomtom, copilot) in your house then that would then mean you would only get 4 downloads as each one would. also, if there was a problem with a download it would log it as a download anyway but you would lose out...
do you only use your satnav twice a year?

Why not subscribe and then keep your eyes peeled for new cameras or corrections. You only need to be the first to report a new camera to get lifetime membership as 30-40 people each month can attest to! _________________ Darren Griffin |

I don't tend to get out that much other than the work commute, and the odd trip with the family! Will have to try and change that, though!
I understand what your saying about the possible problems, but couldn't the downloads for the different devices be linked together with a common identifier in your database (or what you use for authentication) which would allow you to download the different files as many as times as you like for the same month, but only count as one of your 12 months used up? Obviously you'll know better than me if that's feasible, and I'm sure your technical guys probably already thought of that.
My local commute to work is mainly 2 A roads and a motorway so I'm not really likely to come across any new speed cameras.
Thanks anyway. |

I think you have missed how it works. The £19 lets you download however many versions you want for 12 months. This includes the different brands and different countries etc. There is no "ticking off" the months as you suggest. _________________ Gerry
