Does anyone know a way to reset all comm ports to their default values in WM5? _________________ N29 54.962

What device and which comm ports do you mean the GPS related ones or something else? - Mike |

Here's what's happening: When I set up my Bluetooth and GPS, the only options I'm presented are comm 6 and comm 7. Then when I run Mapopolis, the only option I get is comm 4. I feel like there's something messing up my ports--a "ghost" that's grabbing them and not letting them be available. Same kind of thing is happening with GPSinfo.
I would like to force clear all the ports. I don't know how many dozens of times I've gone through the Bluetooth setup process, uninstalled Mapopolis and rinstalled it, tried Franson's GPSgate, left my GPS without it's battery for 14 hours, everything I can think of or glean from the Web. Once again, Mike...thank's for your patience. _________________ N29 54.962

One thing to bear in mind is that you need to EXIT (not just minimize) any apps using the BT serial port. If you don't do this then the port is not available for other apps. If you have several apps you want to use with eth GPS then look at something like GPSGate from Franson - this allows sharing of the port.
The other thing to check...
Are you using the in-built GPS 'sharing' software? It appears as a an icon in Settings. This tries to do the same thing as GPSgate - but I (and a few others) never had much luck with it. Make sure it's disabled. _________________ Phil |
