The power/data connector on my dad's Medion (Mio 168 rebadge) has finally snapped off completely. As he only ever uses it as a satnav he's not worried about synching data etc (an I could do it via infrared if needed), so I thought I could hook up the power lines on the circuit board to a power socket on a flying lead to allow him to charge it from a multiway in-car psu I already have. Can anyone tell me where I can hook into the power circuitry on the main board to let me do this? I am experienced at building circuitry and know how to handle a soldering iron, but don't have access to kit to allow me to work as fine as I would need to when replacing the edge connector (even if I could get one)

Good luck with the repair!
I had the same problem with my Medion 168 clone, and it was just within the 3-year guarantee, so I sent it back to Medion for a repair under warranty. This was about November last year so I was really pleased that they honoured the guarantee after all that time.
Anyway, they rang me after about 10 days and said they can no longer repair this fault - can't get the parts - and would I accept a new PDA in its place?
Obviously I said "Yes" and they sent me a brand new one in the post that day.
Downside was, it was a different model, I don't recall the model number, it's in a drawer somewhere. It does have a stubby aerial rather than the fold-out version, and it's got 4.4 software rather than the 4.2 on the original, but it's quite big and bulky and to be honest I don't use it any more as it just looks so old-fashioned - bit like an early mobile phone would look now.
No wonder they still have them in stock, they probably didn't seel too well when they came out!
I miss my old 168, as obviously they didn't send it back to me so I eventually bought a Navigon 5110.
