I have mapsource installed (part of the v10 / NT2008 mapping update).
And I have unlock codes for more than one gps (legally). They're entered via the unlock wizard.
What I don't fully yet understand is what happens when you create a mapset on a SD card - are the maps unlocked for all the unlock codes that you've entered?
I'm just a bit puzzled with that - it works, don't get me wrong - I've unlocked the maps for the units I can, and I've created the maps on cards for the each gps, I'm just a bit puzzled as to how all that sorts itself out? |

The way I thought it worked was that when you created the mapset, that set would be coded to the device it was being transferred to. I suppose I'm saying "No, your mapset will not contain all your unlock codes". Of course, I could be totally wrong! _________________ Tim |

I guess the only reason I ask, is that the last mapset (after adding an additional unlock code) didn't prompt me for any specifics.
I did wonder, before writing the maps to the card, whether it would prompt me for a specific unlock code, but nothing.
Yet the maps work fine for the unit. I haven't tried that particular card in any of the other units, but it just puzzled me, and I wondered if anybody could enlighten me as to what's going on.
It's not a loaded question, it's merely idle curiosity - I thought I understood what was going on, but I obviously don't get something! |
