One suggestion is to connect it to your computer, and remove any voices that you don't use - particularly the foreign ones.
Don't forget to make a full Explorer back-up before you start. |

Is this the European version or the regional device, the reason I ask is these two units have very different memory capacity, which map are you thinking of putting on the unit? - Mike |

Try what daggers has suggested - the backup using Windows Explorer, then you can remove files without too much hastle.
In the voices folder will be a number of unused voices, the ones to keep are:
Tim = data04.chk and data04.vif
Jane = data05.chk and data05.vif
If you use any other voice and want to know which file it coresponds to you can open the .vif file by right clicking and choose Open With then select Note Pad to view the contents.
The One Third Edition Europe was tight for space when first released, as the application keeps growing this is going to become even more problematic - Mike |

Have a read of the FAQ page which can be found by clicking Here #1 is the one you want for the backup, but some of the others might give you a better insight into what the device can do - Mike |

Well, you could always delete the map....
Seriously, the voices are the usual things that people delete to make a bit more space (even TomTom themselves suggest it HERE).
They are about 3/4 of a Meg each.
There's not a lot more you can get rid of on a ONE 3rd ed. They are pared down to the bones already.

Which voice do you use? - if you remove all the other ones installed to the device this will free up some space, also in the zip folder are four files, these are for the postcodes, leave the the UK ones alone but remove the Dutch files - Is there a folder named "rastor" on the unit as this can also be taken off without significantly affecting the device - Mike |
