Amidst a slew of other product announcements at their "Connecting Your World" event today in Berlin HP also (finally) declared general availability of their latest incarnation of the thumbboard equipped Pocket PCs, following in the footsteps of the 65x and 69xx.
The date for the announcement could have been chosen more favorably. Yesterday's presentation of the iPhone 3G has put a whole new perspective to the placement of the 910. I think especially in the business world there will be a shootout between the Blackberry, the new iPhone, and the iPAQ.
Anyhow. The 910 is interesting for us since it has a built in GPS receiver (there is no firm information on any included GPS app though), and we will review it as soon as it is available.
Ah, yes. Different from the ill-fated 610 (think Qualcomm) the iPAQ 910 is supposed to be available world wide. Shipping dates will vary by country, but shipping will begin June 30th.
The HP US website lists a price of 499$ - I will be very interested to see if that will be changed in the light of the iPhone price...

I am really curious to see if anyone will pick them up at that horrendous price. _________________ Lutz
