I'm trying to see if the extra £80 for a 530 would be worth it.
As far as I understand it, ignoring the BT and FM stuff (that I don't need) the One is missing the following that is in the 530:
- IQ routes
- Lane guidance
- Memory card support
- Itineraries
Anything else I've missed?
And is the spare memory for POIs sufficient that the Memcard support is not important?
Any other thoughts?
Another question - when do TT issue updated maps - is there a defined cycle, or is it random?
Thanks in advance _________________ Brian Abbott

First... It's NOT a v4!
Depending on whether it's a Regional or Europe edition it's a v8 or v9. TomTom aren't even refering to it as the "4th edition", I've seen TT call them various things, including the "30 series" and the "22" models
Anyway, assuming you mean the ones with the new, attached mount, one thing I'd add is that not only is hands free missing, but ANY connection to a phone so no "Plus" services such as Traffic are possible.
Widescreen makes a big difference, obviously that is missing on the ordinary ONE.
Jukebox is missing too.
Map releases seem to be pretty random at the moment because they are releasing new ones to give the new features, but that don't necessarily have newer map data. Say twice a year on average for REAL updates? |
