I have a 910 and it does a couple of things that are really irritating. I was wondering if anyone had tips to prevent these issues, or if I will just have to live with them.
1. The light sensor doesn't seem to work reliably. It thinks it is day all the time so I have to turn brightness down at night. Once in a blue moon, it works as intended. (I have gone over the settings... over and over again. They are correct. It's just misbehaving.)
2. Once every couple of months, it won't turn on. I have to take a pin to the reset button to reboot it.
I've had it since the 910 was released, and it has always done this stuff. A month ago I plugged it in to TomTom Home for the first time in about a year and saw there was a v7 upgrade available, so I did that, but it still doesn't behave properly. (I have a related question that I will put in another post.)
Aside from copying some MP3s to it, I have never messed around with customizations or plugins.
(It is no fun to NEED your GPS and then have it suddenly refuse to come on until you can pull over and ransack your car looking for something narrow and pointy enough to hit that reset button!)
Thanks in advance! |

For me the light sensor seemed to not work correctly. I never use it now so turned the function off. The bonus to that is it saves a bit of battery.
I have only had to do a Reset about twice, and both times it was when I was doing experiments and connecting/disconnecting to the PC. _________________ Richard

As you are running v7 software, you could try "Suntime" a little add on prog that will switch to the night colour scheme at a certain TIME.
