My memory card recently crashed so I had to restore my backup from my PC onto my new card. Tomtom one V1.
I have done the necassary reinstall procudures but for some reason everything works fine (when you can operate TOMTOM via computer) under HOME 2.5 (I can view my maps etc fine) but when I switch the tomtom on standalone it says no map found and it won;t let me proceed:(
does anyone know what I done wrong? the map I have purchased is legit from the tomtom website about 1 month ago. |

Have you tried a pin-in-the-hole Reset?
Was it a HOME Backup, or done using Explorer? _________________ Richard

hi, I have tried the pin reset and still not working.
to reload my memory card I did the following as I tried restore but was coming up with problem mentioned.
Used older version of HOME to reinstall application (which was saved on computer) then used HOME 2.3 to update this and reinstalled map which was copied on my computer.
the app version installed is 7.163
and my map is UK and IRELAND 715.1689. |

I can't understand how it works with Operate my Device and not under it's own control.
I take it that you get the No Maps Found when you go to Switch Maps. _________________ Richard

In HOME did you use Backup and Restore or Add Map, etc | Items on my Computer to put the Map back on?
I'm running out of ideas.
It might need a call to TT Customer Services. _________________ Richard

I had a similar problem (screen freezing on start up) after downloading the latest upgrade. Helpline instructions were to delete all "loose" files on sd card (NOT folders), reset, reconnect to computer and download update.
It did work for me but is still freezing if I download the latest upgrade. |

Yet more evidence to show that you need to do FULL backups with Windows Explorer NOT "Home".
Home has a long reputation for screwing up its backups, and apparently the latest versions of Home don't even let you keep more than one, which is plain crazy!
Instructions to make proper backups are in the FAQs in this forum. |
