I would like to nominate TomTom as a retailer to avoid due to their arrogant response to complaints about their misleading statements about 50% off the latest maps. _________________ Bazzza

If you think Tom Tom are bad, then, whatever else you do, don't buy Garmin. Their customer service is non-existent. |

My maps are well out of date and they have been singularly unhelpful. I originally had an i3 and there were no map updates. I now have a Nuvi 200 and it has exactly the same maps as the i3 which was ancient. There are no map updates for the 200 either.
They don't appear to be interested once they've sold the thing. |

Actually Garmin has a high reputation. A single persons experience does not make a reputation.

If you bought it recently then you are entitled to the latest maps which almost certainly aren't the same as the ones on your i3. Where are you having problems getting the upgrade? (Please start a new thread for this) I noticed you had problem updating your i3 here but don't recall you mentioning your 200 having problems too...
Others have updated i3s and 200s so I'm not sure why you are having so many problems. |

The reason I bought the Nuvi 200 was because of the problems with the i3.
I have been on the Garmin site and posted the serial number and they say there are no map updates. A mile from where I live, there's a bypass that was opened two years ago. When I drive on it I appear to be in the middle of nowhere. I have also experienced this on the A1 where the route was altered years ago.
I've emailed Garmin and have been studiously ignored. |

Coaster2 - If you wish for any help in trying to resolve the situation please start a new thread in the Garmin Area and we'll see what we can do. |

teleatlas updates their maps frequently. it's the map updates from tomtom that are more sporadic. |
