Have never really bothered with the handsfree option as it never really worked that well for me, in particular those i called could not hear me very well. and besides I had a Bluetooth Headset which works.
So after updating to 8.010 I thought I would give it a try again. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised as it seemed to have solved the previous issues. The only problem I had is that it would not download my numbers from my Nokia 6230, every time I tried it would go so far then the phone would switch off.
So today on my way up to Haverhill I had an incomming call from the office and all seemed well untill nearing the end of the call but before we both hung up I had my colleagues voice get locked into a loop and kept repeating very rapidly.
Any attempt at swiching off would not work and a I resorted the the good old reset, which solved that particular problem.
Then the next issue was it took at least seven attempts to switch on, each time I tried it would just hang on the start up screen.
And finally when it did get it going I found it had done what appeared to be a factory reset as all my favs, POI's, in fact all settngs in MapSettings.cfg had defaulted. Luckily I have a recent back up thanks to this forum's advice.
My question is has anyone experienced or had similar issues, or is this a new incarnation of things to come from Navcore 8+.
All comments appreciated and apologies for any similarity to other lenghty posts on this forum.

The looping / stuttering is nothing new.
Have a search, both myself and DennisN have put stuff up.
Dissappointing (but not surprised) to see v8 doesn't fix it. Its a feature that would be useful when in hire cars.
Otherwise my top tip for hands free calls would be Parrot, mostly because it just works:

I had my fingers crossed for v8.010, but it did it to me yesterday at least three times.
And it used to be so brilliant on my old GO700. _________________ Dennis

Anyone want to swap (upgrade ) their 700 to a 920? Actually, my stepson in law has my 700 - I may offer him a swap for a 720 - he doesn't use this site so he won't know a thing!! _________________ Dennis
