Ok this idiot wants to know:-
a) how do i update maps on my c510. Have disk, every time i try clangs with not enough memory. (sorted this temporalily by deleting all language files, but something is eating memory.
b) I want more maps on the unit than will fit. There is an sd card in slot (blank), but device never ever refers to it. Ideally want all maps there, and FORCE unit to load from there. Otherwise no point is having sd card/slot.
Instructions useless, manual even worse, will be reverting to navman next time round |

Re (b) - A long while since I used it, but if my memory serves me, Mapsource allows you to specify whether you want the map data put on the unit or the card. Presumably once the card has this info on it, the satnav WILL refer to it (?). _________________ David

Can you check what exactly is fitted in the SD card slot, is it a true SD card or simply a plastic blank fitted by the manufacturer to prevent dirt entering the hole - Mike |

You have no option other than selecting each of the map tiles you need on the PC application then transfer them to the device - I find putting the SD card in a card reader is slightly faster. When you select Transfer you are given the option to select the Garmin or any other card readers attached to the PC. Once you have the files on the card put the card into the device and give it a try - Mike |
