Thanks Dave but I sound like a cross between Arthur Scargil & Lee Marvin with a bad throat - I did have a selection of warnings that sounded great but I can't remember which software they came from |

That you may, but if you goto the above website you can choose particular recorded computer voices, you just type the text in and it will read it phonetically and you can then save them as WAV files. |

By using the punctuation you can get the voice to add pauses and change the tone of the messages. |

Angela,
To save a .wav file you have created in naturalvoices.com you should click on FILE in Windows Media Player (which should have just played the file that you want to save). In FILE click on SAVE AS and you can rename it to whatever you want and then save it on your PC - I save them to my folder for synching with my IPAQ so it will go straight to the MyDocuments folder on my Ipaq when I put the Ipaq in the synch holder. But of course you can save it to wherever you want.
Hope this helps.

Hi Tom
I think I have found the problem. When I make a sound file it plays it in quicktime! I don't know how to turn it of so it plays in windows Media player, maybe I should just uninstall it?

Hi Angela,
Well I don't really know to be perfectly honest! I am not the world's greatest when it comes to PC's! I assume Quicktime is some sort of player? I have tried looking for it on my own PC but can't find it. If it is a player, does it play the .wav file? If it does, does it not allow you to save the file? If no to those then I guess it is a case of making Windows Media Player your default? Hopefully someone with a bit more savvy than myself will read this and give you a better answer!! Sorry I can't help more!

I've recorded some voices for checkPOInt from 20mph up to 70mph inclusive, plus warning for mobile and red light cameras. Feel free to download and use. Excuse the American voice but it was the best out of everything I could find, apart from asking the Mrs to put on a voice. ;-)
