New to posting on the forum but have been following the various threads on TMC issues, V7.481 etc since I bought my 920 in January. As a result I am still running 710 maps with 7.221 and very glad to have discovered this forum before blindly accepting updates!
I have just updated to Home V2.3.1.92 and I now have 112173 mapshare corrections displayed, where until the update I had still been getting 99999 in spite of obviously getting more corrections. Whether that has been corrected as a result of home or the lastest mapshare download I don't know but at least it is an update improvement!

Remember, they've got a bug which hits a glass ceiling at 99999 - so not changing ANY number will probably be their software fix - can't increase it? well just don't try!!
Me too, continually 99999 MapShare corrections. Support doesn't accept that to a bug (that is not a surprise).
Is there any way to get rid of that silly window on the Home? _________________ Harry (TT GO720T)

Well, you can either uninstall it in Home (Tools/Add Ons/Uninstall), OR you can make the simple change already mentioned. You can either do a forum search for it, or I'll dig out a link for it in a minute...
EDIT: Rather than give you a link, it's just as easy to repeat it here....
1.) Locate the file "indicator.xml".
You will find it in:
C:\Programfiles\TomTom HOME 2\xul\extensions\MapShare-status@tomtom.com\chrome\content\indicator.xml
...unless you have user profiles installed in Windows, in which case it will be in:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\TomTom\HOME\Profiles\xxxxxxx.default\extensions\MapShare-status@tomtom.com\chrome\content
2.) Make a backup copy of it, in case you do something wrong, or the fix doesn't work for whatever reason.
3.) Open it in Wordpad (you can also use Notepad, but it's harder to do as no line breaks are shown)
5.) Change line to: installedPatches = Math.min(Math.round(installedPatches), 999999);
(In other words... add another "9")
6.) Resave file
7.) Start TT-Home again. Problem solved.
THE ABOVE WORKS IN WINDOWS XP
Windows Vista adds some extra headaches...
Edit the file as in steps 1-5, but then:
6.) Choose "Save As' instead, and save the file to your DESKTOP, or other easy to find location where Vista Security Policies WILL allow you to save the file - keep the name correct and unaltered though.
7.) Then, find, right-click, and COPY this newly saved and correctly edited file.
8.) Go back to the proper TomTom folder, and RENAME the existing original indicator.xml file to something like "indicatorORIG.xml"
9.) Then, right-click in this folder, and choose PASTE to paste in YOUR correctly edited indicator.xml file into this location.
(Thanks to shadamehr for the Vista instructions)

I found that in the TomTom HOME add-ons. Uninstalled the MapShare status indicator and the HOME started again. The indicator was on the HOME main screen, but (surprise) it showed now 110341 MapShare map corrections. One programming miracle again. _________________ Harry (TT GO720T)

When home automatically downloads and installs the latest version of itself (2.3.1.92) it also downloads and installs a new version of indicator.xml which removes the "glass ceiling" of 99999 installed patches.
They haven't introduced another "glass ceiling" they have simply removed the parts of the software that impose a limit. Well done tomtom.
So far this is the only improvement that I can detect in Home version 2.3.1.92.

Interesting you say that pcaouolte....
I'm on Home 2.3.1.92, and when it downloaded itself it DIDN'T update the indicator add-on.
But I checked for updates to addons and saw there was a new version, which I dully installed. It DIDN'T remove the 99999 limit on my installation, I had to edit the file manually again.
Maybe they forgot to allow for PCs with user profiles enabled?

I couldn't be bothered to edit my file - lazy or timid, take your pick!! But the new Home has sorted itself out for me - I now have over 112,000 corrections in use. _________________ Dennis
You are a legend Andy, i went back to xp and messed about with my app and home programmes. Could not get to change my map status indicator until i read your precise post about doing it through app data.
thanks mate, worked a treat.
