I've just bought a 760 which I believe is the same as the 770 but without US maps. I have put my first impressions of it on the reviews forum if you're interested. I have a couple of reservations about it as you will see but on the whole I think it's a great piece of kit.

I've had one for about 6 months and purchased it as we spend quite a bit of time stateside (kieee I guess you are too since you've given a link to an American site?)

Works well in all of my cars and hire cars stateside.

Positives
Nice easy to read clear screen
light slim & easy to carry/store
picks up satellites quickly/easily
feature packed

negatives[b]
Bluetooth is resonant as is music player
power connector on left side (ideal for USA not so good for UK)
Can't seem to load customer POI's (but that just might be me!)
Radio link is poor with interference
camera database and warnings are baout 2yrs out of date

But as I said it's helped us a lot stateside (finding stores by name etc) so has paid for itself (£300 inc delivery).

Regs

Personally I think they are over-rated.

I had a Garmin Nuvi 760, which I sold at a loss because I was so unimpressed with it, and bought a Navman S90i instead.

The Garmin maps were hopelessly out of date, and the navigation instructions were inaccurate.

For example taking you off a dual carriageway up into the rounabout above, and then back down !

The Navman is a lot better in so many ways, despite what people tend to say on here. I think the map display is also a lot better.
