Hi Mike
Thanks for the confirmation
I have got around to installing the US ASR Files and there seems to be a problem with them,
Although the Newly supplied TT EU Files work fine when loading the US Files ASR Remains greyed out in the menu
I have been on to TT Support to see if the link they supplied is for the correct V8 Files but am still waiting for a reply
So have been unable to test US Voice Recognition at the moment,
(And that is with the US Files on the device rather than an SD card, so ruled out that as a problem) |

Thats what I thought
But the 715 Maps include the ASR Files @ 1.87 GB
The V8 Maps ddo not include ASR So 1.43GB For Maps & 430Mb for ASR Puts us back to basically the same size as the full 715 release (1.89Gb Actually) so a tad bigger than the V715 Release maps.
It seems TT has played the crafty card by trimming the ASR Files from the 930 so they can fit it all on the megre 4gb memory!
Maybe this means the US 930 Machines will come with ASR for the US and not for EU?.
EDIT YET AGAIN!
Ok With the V8 North America Maps and ASR Files on a 2Gb Memory Card there is just 17mb free!!! (But ASR Works Perfectly)
The Western & Central EU Maps and ASR are on The Internal Memory and they Work Perfectly. and you can swich between them no problem
So for £5 Problem solved by buying a 2Gb Memory card as originally thought. (Although I still think TT should have uped the Memory in the Machine) 935 Maybe? with 8Gb! (For a £100 Premium Probably) |

Which is what I have to do with the 920 and v715 maps - so no change there then _________________ David

Moving on to ANOTHER question for Vicky if I may (you really are becoming our resident 930 expert!).
Any chance you can have a look at the two .ver files in the 'zip' folder and tell us the version numbers of the UK and Netherlands Postcode files?
(Open in Notepad) |

I Thought we had been through this earlier in ther thread (Maybe somewhere else).
Anyway, to confirm
Post Code Files are
GB 701 3rd April 2007
NL 707 21st August 2007
So No change since at least V710 Maps
Cheers

Thanks Vicky... sorry if I missed it earlier!
Done a couple of searches for "postcodes" + "930" and "postcodes" by "vicky"... no hits except what you've just written today. |

Try a search on post (space) codes, Andy!
However, Vicky, the only reference I can find is where you say you copied the zip file from the 720. Is this still the file you're using? _________________ Anita

No I found the Zip Folder in my Original "Pre Use" 930 Backup
I forgot it was in the Root of the device (I was looking for it in the actual WE Map Folder !!!)
So the details are from the 930 Maps
Also with regards to the Post On Post Codes, I did remember the conversation but on checking it was in a PM conversation with someone, hence why its not showing up in the thread!
Cheers

Yes, confusing isn't it. I spent ages recently searching for a post about something before I realised it was in a PM, not a post! _________________ Anita

Well I have decided the TT 930T is NOT for me
I have just fallen in Love with a nice Double DIN Kenwood Built in Unit for my car with Garmin Sat Nav Built in
So the 930T is in the For Sale Section Boxed as New for £300!!! Get a bargain save £90+

It'll be a real shame to see you go. Your posts have been really useful and entertaining.
Good luck on the dark side! |

Like The Governator says! "Ill be back".. Am always flitting between systems,. Richard still has his 920 so will be in here anyway.
I think I have tried every system and always find something new to move onto. Just the nice new Shiny Kenwood Double DIN is looking very attractive for the UK car. Still not sure what I will do in the US for now may just use Richards 920,
Like always I will be in and out of the fourms (Just look at my past post history and you will see a small selection of the units I have been using since 2003).. Saying that my first unit was 1997!!!
Cheers
