Quote: | Also, with everybody doing their own, there would be not standard corporate image.
For example, an embroidered T-shirt may look better than a screen print | I agree, and could imagine a good quality black cotton T-shirt embroidered with the logo. I have no idea what that would cost per item but think the cost would be high, unless the 0.25 million+ members all wanted one.
What price would people be prepared to pay? I change my T-shirts every day, sometimes more often, so I'd need two or three to ensure a fresh one when needed.
I'm quite happy to sit back and see what transpires. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Why not try a sponsored product. Our workware is sponsored and payed for by a few suppliers, to simply include their logo on the sleeves.

Although a great idea, i must put my bit in using past experience, sorry if I come across as a misery.
I can see Darren's point of view Quote: | What I'm wary of is being saddled with stock we have paid for that we can't sell! |
Some years ago i did a similar merchandise purchase, as requested by employee’s enthusiasm, to find that when the group involved had bought their 'wants' I had loads left, which I couldn’t even give away.
Many people regard a product with a Company logo on as advertising, and should be free.
Only famous brand names manage to sell their logos and make a profit. If PGPSW gauged a low price around cost, they would have to move all the merchandise to break even, if the figure included profit to allow for 'waste' then some might complain that the price is too high.
Also just think of the sizes that would be required on 'T' shirts, when ordering do you allow equal on each size or more of one size than another?
Do you pick a style and colour, that can be used for both men and women?
If you run out of a size is it easy to replace, or would it be a smaller order so at an increased price, thereby giving some members a chance to complain, or lowering the sales?
This just for the 'T' shirts.
Mugs are OK for work but would your wife want them for everyday use at home?
I think to get this to work it could be a full time job for a member of the PGPSW team. Maybe a better idea would be for an 'outside' individual or Company to set this up as a business, working close to PGPSW to clear the legal requirements.
Mostdom's last post on sponsorship might be going to the more sensible.
Sorry to put a negative view point on it. _________________ TomTom Go 60

And Pampers, because that's what we'll need if we're all going to be looking at every builders van we see parked at the roadsides from now on! _________________ Darren Griffin

We actually tried to sell our branded merchandise (caps, shirts, mugs etc.)through the site about 3 or 4 years ago with extremely poor results (not sure if we sold any at all). That said, the site wasn't as busy then and the products were not 'pushed'. _________________ Robert Brady |

Good idea, but my fear there would be 'shabby' low quality T-shirts might be a poor reflection on PGPSW, whilst smart good quality might show PGPSW in a better light. Also, with everybody doing their own, there would be not standard corporate image. |
What with Darren's army experience, we can demand that all purchasers turn up on his doorstep for a kit inspection before releasing them into the wild. _________________ Robert Brady |

So maybe Quote: | I can knock up a speed camera spotter graphic for tee shirt printing? | would be a good idea. I'm willing to download, print on some special 'iron on' paper and see how it goes.
(A reminder to myself. I must remember to 'reverse' the picture before printing). _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

It's working for me?
Anyhoo, I'm not very arty but a quick mod of the sticker theme has produced this:
