That's the number that I've been using but no joy. |

Does not work for my i3 either.
My i3 came in a sealed box on offer a couple of years ago from Quick Save. There was NO yellow card included with it so cannot register it on the Garmin web site.
Sent several emails to Garmin at that time but never received a single reply. |

Mine came from Somerfield on a similar offer, no yellow card. Still managed to register the thing though. I think you only need your serial number to do this via the Garmin web site. The serial numbers on the units can be hard to read, try looking on the top of the box it came in if you still have it, there should be a white stick on label with a bar code and the serial number on it. _________________ Chas

My i3 Serial No is 7xxxxx1. I've put it into Paul's link several times and all I get is no updates available.
The map is way out of date now. I kept getting directions for non existant traffic islands on the A66 and, on the A1, was apparently driving across a field.

Phone garmin directly and speak to them. I bought mine from staples some years ago, didnt have the yellow card i phoned garmin and they asked for the serial number and then gave me the "coupon code". which at the time allowed me a free update cd. |

The yellow card is the unlock code for the maps the unit ships with and is NOT needed to register with Garmin. Only the Serial Number in the battery compartment is.
I've tried Coaster2s serial number and i can't get it to work either.
I would contact Garmin to see if they can sort out why your unit isn't apparently elligible for an upgrade.
On the other hand with the maps running at ~£50 and a new Nuvi 200 with news maps costing ~£100 it might be worth considering an new unit... |

Thanks Paul, I think you're right. Having thought about it, I will probably buy a Tom Tom. I emailed Garmin about this problem and I haven't received a reply. I emailed them last year and didn't receive a reply to that either.
I just hope that the Tom Tom people have a better level of service. |

I've had a similar problem with a 360 - no updates available - despite it being two years old now. When I looked into it further, it would appear that despite registering it correctly, the Garmin site seems to think my Nuvi is running America maps and not Western Europe.
Think a phone call is the only way I will get mine sorted. |
