This post was about the COMPETITION RESULTS.
I see there's a MODERATOR involved.
THANKS |

Delboy is quite correct, we have an Off Topic forum, lets keep the waffle and idle banter to that forum please. _________________ Darren Griffin |

OK (back from a weekend away, hence delayed response).
Miniscule apologies, Delboy. Small because my own contributions were rather deliberate - would you have preferred the topic to become a seriously heavy "bash the competition organisers" thread? Because I wouldn't. _________________ Dennis

It's now Wednesday - but you didn't say WHICH Tuesday
Perhaps the team shouldn't stipulate 21 days after the closing date
Quote: | Winners will be chosen at random from the correct entries and will be posted on the site within 21 days of the closing date. |
and give themselves a little more flexibility by saying "Winners will be announced when details of the next competition are posted" _________________ Andy

I don't think so, i asked a perfectly logical question,To which i got a perfectly logical answer from Darren.
There was no question of "bash the competition organisers" hence why i reported the "Waffle"
As Darren said, there's an Off Topic Forum for waffle. |

The logical question, posed on 29th March, was Quote: | What's happened to the Feb 2008 competition results? it closed on Feb 28th | Could you remind me when and what the answer was? I seem to have missed it in the subsequent three weeks of waffle and idle banter. _________________ Dennis

Which you, a moderator, substantially contributed to. Shouldn't you be setting an example to the rest of us? |

Good question, I don't handle the comps personally but I'll find out. There may be a slight delay as Rob is in the US on PGPS business.

which was covered by darren's blanket 'off topic' post above.

But that didn't stop DennisN's unwarranted snide reply to delboy that I quoted above. As I said, shouldn't DennisN, as a moderator, be setting an example to the rest of us? |

Ok, enough of the quarrelling please.
I understand that the competition result delay is due to a technical limitation of our competition software. This only permits the publication of results when the next competition is announced. I know no more and don't do the back end coding so don't quiz me on this!
Because we have had a delay awaiting the prize confirmation for the next comp the announcement was stuck in cyberspace limbo.
Our apologies for the delay, it appears to be one of those, lets give it a few more days things that dragged on and on. I am told the announcement and next comp will be released very soon. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Can we drop it now? I realise I was wrong and offer the simple explanation that I did myself an unpleasant injury yesterday, so got home needing something to kick. Next door's cat read the signs and hid away. I got very little sleep and still need the same therapy this morning. Inexcusable. _________________ Dennis

Come on children you should all know better. Smacked wrists, now go up to your rooms.
You've been told. |
