Hi
I should know better but have tried buying the unlock code via the upgrade disc and it drops out with invalid amount (the amount being $75 + Tax . Total $88.13) . tried going in on my account but cant find where to buy the unlock code either but can find where to order the cd again 
HELP

I have been there so many times but as it doesnt show the new maps how the **** do I get to unlock them.
Sorry getting short tempered because I have been to my account lots of times but still cant find to unlock my new disc
Makes me feel like a beginner again

All that is dependent on on having a Garmin Account, A Coupon Code[on yellow/orange certificate with original unit, and the unit code in the back of the unit!!!!!!!!! |

Phew got it done thanks Strumble for your help.
Talk about intuitive software , finding how to unlock an update disk was like running in mud.

Please, what did they charge you for 2008 update?
I have just received the 2008 DVD for my 2610, but in two minds now as I have recently purchased a nuvi 770.
I called garmin and they emailed me the unlock code (after I gave them serial no of 770) so I now have latest maps installed on PC for routing etc....
but they will charge me for a further unlock code for my 2610 thats why I am asking as I cant see the price anywhere |

If I were you I would ring them again as it always used to be ,and I am not sure wether it still is , that if you had a second unit that you could unlock that for free
Let us know the result as a few have more than 1 garmin unit

I agree because effectively I have paid for new mapping once already when I purchased the 770 so why should I pay twice....
i will call them on Monday but the chap I spoke to did say I would have to pay for another unlock. |

yes it seems that way... a categorical "NO you have to pay" (approx £45) for second unlock.
I think I will leave it for now as will hardly be using the 2610 much so V9 will do OK |
