|
|
am planning on taking my HTC Kaiser/TyTn II overseas on a trek where it will be vital that I know my grid reference at an particular time (I have detailed maps)
I downloaded Google Maps but I can't see anywhere to view or record my current grid reference. Is there any way of finding a grid reference in Google Maps?
Even more importantly, does Google Maps require one to be in an area covered by one's service provider (in my case, 3)? If not, is there a free program out there that will give the grid reference, when one is outside the coverage area?
I would prefer a program that let me save way points, but anything is better than nothing and I am prepared to scribble the grid reference down on a piece of paper if I can only see one.
Any suggestions? |

Have a look at GPS Speed Sentry, a review can be found Here - its not free and does considerably more than just offering a coordinate display, its not free but it wont break the bank and you can download a trial version to ensure it works with your hardware prior to purchase -
And please only one request for information at any one time, multiple posts of the same question only cause confusion within the forum - Mike |

"Any suggestions?"
Yup: Install the kaiser tweak .cab and enable GPS photo
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=333898
Fire up the camera on the kaiser, select GPS photo, wait until the kaiser gets a GPS fix and take a photo. The GPS coordinates are stored in the EXIF data. |
