I've not run Co Pilot Central for a while. TToday it's reporting a new version of Co Pilot 7. Of course it doesn't actually quote a build number. And since Alk sent me download details of a version oto fix 'live' which was broken before I em reluctant to install this in case it fouls that up.
The date of this update is 9th March 2007 !

Hi Darren,
I tried to run it under Vista and didn't get anywhere at all. So I am runnign it under XP/SP2.
I did try the update this evening and it installed version 7.0.6.68 - great thatw as a DOWNGRADE then as I was running 7.0.6.121 before. Luckily I kept those files so was able to upgrade again.
And here I was hoping ALK might have released the version with text to speech! No such luck!

it depends how they number the releases.
you said they sent you a specific release version that was sent to you then it could have been that they sent you: 7.0.6.12 that happened to be a slightly different version with the fix so added a '1' at the end? in which case 7.0.6.68 would be higher?
my current version is 7.0.6.68 - and i wasn't offered any update voa central. maybe central is set to only read up to 2 numbers per 'part' so is only reading '.12' at the end so assumes it is .12 as opposed to .121?!
no idea really... just a few thoughts...

I have version 7.0.6.67. CoPilot central did offer me the new version to download. So I did download it, but it does not show up as an option to upload to my device under sync your device. So how do I install it?
I also have a problem with Copilot cental. Everytime I run it I get the message "An update is avaiable for your copilot central. Would you like to install now? Doing so will restart your copilot central"
I click yes, it says it is installing something, restarts copilot central then gives the same exact message. The version number never changes from 0.5.101.0. It seems to be stuck in an endless loop tring to do an upgrade as then problem will reoccur as long as I click yes. Any one else have this problem? |

According to the ALK website:
"CoPilot Central requires Windows XP/Vista (32-bit versions only)"

kwdunn - I had a simialr issue - if you browse to the Copilot directory on your PC there will be a downloads directory - int here look for all files that have a creation date of the day you did the download - in my case it was the pocketpc2003.cab file and some autorun dll's and autorun.exe
I copied these to my flash card.
Uninstalled Copilot from my iPAQ and then reinstalled and got version 7.0.6.68. I'd advise making a backup copy of your flash card before you do this.
Since this is an older version (live didn't work again) I put the 7.0.6.121 CAB file back on and reinstalled and live works again.
Regards
