Hi all
If I delete Poi.dat from my map folder will I get rid of all the built in Poi's. I have loads of backups, so I can easily retore it if I want to.
Thanks |

Or instead of deleting it you could rename it something like poi.dat_old, then you just need to change the name back if you decide you want them again. _________________ Anita

If i remember correctly the CRPOI.dat is the corrections through mapshare but POI.dat is the main POI list and these are on all with v7.xx app. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

Infama and I were discussing that earlier in THIS topic. He thought the same, but I said:
Quote: | In all the time I've used Mapshare, the crpoi.dat file (only one of them) has never changed. It is the same size as it was on day one, and the "modified on" date never changes.
The three files I mentioned above (ServerNameIndex.dat, ServerLineIndex.dat and MapServerPatch.dat) DO change whenever you do a Mapshare update, however. |
We still haven't established quite what the crpoi.dat file DOES do yet though! |

As it's not on the XL, I'd say it's something for the x20s, not mapshare. Does the x20s do anything extra with POIs eg with TTS? _________________ Gerry

53.5 (or 56) depending on how you want to read it. _________________ Richard
