I/ve had a go with Speed Sentry on my Mio 168 using the Franson GPS Gate to run them at the same time.
It is a nice little piece of software. I particularly like the 'radar' type cam position display and I will deffo be using it on verrifying jaunts.
I have one piece of constructive critisism. Bear in mind that I am nearly as old as DennisN and my eyesight is not quite as good as it was when I was 20. You're driving along with a lovely large digital readout speedo. A camera comes into view, the speedo disappears. Ok I get a warning and I know the cam is in front of me, but how fast am I going? What is the speed limit of the camera? Am I exceding this?
I suppose one could argue that I can use my speedo for the first and I should know the speed limit of the road along which I am driving, but as we are displaying the presence of a cam, lets have a visual warning of speeding, because I find a continuous audible warning if speeding a bit trying if you set the detection distance to anything over a few tens of yards.
The speed readout IS there on the rather fairly small and (I find) difficult to read computery 'speed button' legend. The cam speed IS there if you have realy good eyesight (or peer through the bottom half of the bifocals)
I feel an improvement could be made by displaying cam speed and current speed a good bit larger on the cam screen along with a visual indication (Change background to red perhaps?) if current is greater than cam speed.
This 'disappearing speed' phenomenon also exists in a couple of other speed cam detectors that I have tried.
Again, I think it's good, and I have bought it, so you can tell that I'm not too exceied about my comments, other that 'it would be nice if' |

Just been round the block to check on my local camera and it didn't pop up. Should TT6 be running as well, or does SS somehow 'extract' your camera data that it needs ? |

You have to install another version of the database specifically for SS and configure SS to use it. The single file .csv version. _________________ Darren Griffin |

IIRC it doesn't matter where you save it, in the setup for SS you simply tell it where then files are? _________________ Darren Griffin |

As Darren said simply tell the application where the file is stored:
Within the applicaton use Menu/ Setup/ Database at the bottom part of this screen is a "Browse For Database" button, select the csv file containing the speed cameras from this - Mike |

You should select the file "pocketgps_uk_sc.csv" the other file contains the provisional mobile locations. - Mike |

I see, but I can't work out how to get back to the relevant page to input the device ID....PocketGear allows me to redownload, but that's all, and pops up with the same reg key again. |
