Hi all,
I've noticed that if i go to the time settings in my GO300 and sync the time is an hour out. It seems to set to BST / CET. Where does this time come from??? Is it a setting on the device somewhere or does it get it from the GPS??? I just wondered as it just annoys me to have to sync it then knock it back an hour each time etc.....
Cheers

IIRC the "sync" button only does the minutes (so that you don't lose your local time zone setting)

You use the hour adjustment to set the offset for the local time zone, the sync will only sort out the minutes and seconds, but you need to have a sat signal for it to work.
I have seen strange behaviour on some TT devices though which affect the hours when performing a time sync, what version of software have you got on the device? - Mike |

Thanks for the replies guys.... That explains it.
I'm using sw v7.162
I've just tried again and initially got 3 gps sats.... pressed sync and it moved the clock forward an hour..... waited a few more minutes and had 5 gps sats then pressed sync again and it stayed at the correct time.....
I've just realised the time is only totally out when i've had the SD card out of the unit...... I.E. I'll set the time and it'll stay ok if i switch the unit off/on.... If i then remove the SD card and put it back in again then switch the unit on the time is usually totally wrong....
I just got the time as 01:16 when in fact it was 00:33.
Maybe just my unit that is querky.
Cheers

Removal of the card forces a reset so I am not to surprised that the device shows the wrong time, only take the card out when you really need to - Mike |
