Recently, there seem to be a lot of questions being posted here that are quite specific technical questions about a particular sat nav (TomTom, Garmin etc.)
These would be much better put in the relevant forum section for that machine:
1. they will then be seen by people who have better knowledge on that particular model and can give better assistance.
2. You are MUCH more likely to find that your question has already been discussed and hopefully answered.
So come on, people. Put those posts in the right places eh? |

Agreed
I would also add that it would be most helpful if people were a little more descriptive in the subject heading.
I can't speak for everyone, but I simply don't have the time (or the inclination) to read every new post, so unless I can get an idea about the contents from the subject - it doesn't get read. |

Would also help if people added their device details in the subject box. _________________ Graham.

Perhaps there should be a 'sticky' at the top of each forum along the lines of 'Does your post belong here'
This could include details of what belongs in the particular area along with things which should not be - ie you may be using CoPilot, but anything about the cameras which is not specific to CoPilot does not belong in the CoPilot area.
It could give a little advice on how to put your question for best effect, particularly about careful choice of a suitable heading.
It could also give a little advice on looking to see if a point is already being dicussed - careful wording of headings would help here - 'Total Novice - Please Help (often 'shouted' and full of exclaimation marks) is of little use, and often results in high quality help and information being 'lost'.
If we are lucky, perhaps those of us who have been visiting the forums for some time may be spared the same subjects being discussed to death yet again! |
