Hi all,
I have been using a Garmin i3 on my motorcycle for several years and I am currently looking around at possible upgrade options. The VM units look interesting and seem to have some very nice features. I appreciate the fact that VM's are not waterproof, but seem fairly well made.
My question is can you download a route from PC to the GPS? I know i should go away and buy a Garmin Zumo or TT rider, but they are expensive options.
The i3 has been great value for money and has proven to be extremely realiable. I just need a few extra features and don't want to spend a fortune.
Would a VM unit fit my needs?
Happy New Year everyone.

Hi Paul, yes, routes can be downloaded from the VM website to the GPS. You may like to have a look at the latest User Manual (Version 7) which you can download from the VM website if you are interested in details of this and other features. _________________ David

You can have a number of stages in the route by specifying stop-overs/'viapoints', but you can't directly specify which roads to take. There is no specific limit mentioned on the number you can have in a route planned on the satnav unit itself (compare with just 1 on i3), but a quick look at the VM website suggests a limit of 2 stop-overs on a route planned on there (but I haven't really used this yet myself so might have missed something) _________________ David
