|

Hi all,
I have recently purchased a Garmin Nuvi 200w. I am having no problems using the unit, however I do have problems trying to get information from the "200,000 FREE POIs" page.
What I am after is a CSV file of several of the categories listed. When I choose the CSV option from the drop down, select the categories I am after and then save the file I do not get what I expect!
The file that is downloaded is definitely not a CSV and so I cannot use the POI Loader to upload the data. This is after I have opened the zip file and extracted the contents.
I am using IE7 and have seen from various other posts that there seem to be issues using this?
Can anyone help out here?!
Thanks in advance,
Dusty |

Welcome to the forum, try downloading the POI files again, but this time make sure you tick the "Show Link" box next to the download button, and keep the number of categories down to around 20, see if this works for you, I run I.E. 7 and this works fine for me - Mike |

Seems the instructions are still not clear enough?
(I know it's in "Note 1" just below the "download" box, but we still get several of these questions a week...)
How about just prefacing those notes with "IF THIS DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU..." |

How about just prefacing those notes with "IF THIS DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU..." | The CSV Version does not suffer the limitation of 22 sub-categories. You can download whole categories in one go, and you don't need to "Show Link".
All those problems are associated with the conversion to OV2 Files. _________________ Richard

However the problem of sub-categories applies to OV2 downloads.
Try the CSV download with combining, using say Fuel and Food & Drink categories, both of which have more than 22 sub POIs. Even without Show Link. _________________ Richard
