|
|
I have a Tom Tom 910 after years of frustration with xda11 with the navigator based software and continual resets I took the plunge and genraly have been pretty happy with its performance...
The only problem I seem to have is it will only charge in the van through the 12v socket and although I can upgrade transfer music etc via the usb it wont charge like it used to through the usb and needs like a kick start through the van....
Any ideas???
Thanks in advance Lee |

I think you're remembering wrong....
As far as I know only the TT One and the x20 models were ever able to charge via the usb socket.
The easy way to check is that if you have any other power socket on the machine, then it DOESN'T charge via USB. |

No definatley used to light up the power light and recharge
I used to use it in my sprinter van during the week with all the gubins installed and just have it resting in my BMW during weekends when we went out and come home and recharge it for monday for work via my pc.
Of course it could be me going senile
If anyone else reads this can you if at all possible tell me when you dock your 910 if the powerlight comes up in the top left corner when you are connecting to a pc
many thanks |

That's because you were using the "Docking station". According to the manual (download HERE) you have to plug the mains power supply into the dock and then the Go into the dock. See the picture on page 9 of the manual.
Quote: | With the home dock you can charge your TomTom GO when it is not in the car and also connect your GO to your computer. Connect the home dock to the home charger and your computer as shown below.
Place your TomTom GO in the home dock in the same way as you place it in the windscreen dock. |
It DOESN'T charge via the USB socket. |

I agree withe Andy_P2002. The 910 will charge on the home dock but only if the power supply is plugged into the left hand side of the home dock. It does not charge from the USB connection to the computer.
The power supply connection on my home dock is very loose and I have to push the connector into the home dock alomst every time I mount the 910 in order to get the green light to come on. |

No you didn't....
You charged it through the multipin connector on the dock. BIG difference! |
