I'm up to Version 5.4 on Mapsource, but I see on Garmin's site I could download 6.4 Beta for free, however it isn't supported. Is it worth the gamble?
On the same subject, my Etrex Vista hasn't had an update in a good while now, do you think Garmin will bother now that the new models are out? |

I have been running version 6.0.2 Beta of MapSource for some time and have not had any problems. It is easy to go back if you do have troubles.

I'm running the 6.04 beta and haven't had any problems using it. However, 6.03 was put up and then withdrawn again very quickly.... It is a beta after all, so that in itself implies a little risk if you choose to be a guinea pig.
As Oldie says though, it's easy to go back to a previous installation. FWIW, I keep at least two previous versions on my hard disk, just in case... _________________ Tim |

Downloaded the latest version plus new firmware for 2610. Is it me or are there big difference with the new software? Certainly made it more easier to use and the look and feel of both the Mapsource and GPS are improved also. Keep the updates comming Garmin. :D |
