Hows this for a great idea for TT to add to its service. Some kind of way for a TT to alert you to a real traffic delay/incident ahead etc. I am sure this would be a great selling point and would also be very usefull to the TT user as I am sure it would be acurate and fully upto date! If it was good enough they could even make a charge for this added service? |

Do you mean the TomTom Traffic service that has been available via GPRS (using your mobile phone and a Bluetooth link to the unit), or the more recently offered RDS-TMC device which receives data via the FM radio band.
Either reception method can offer dynamic re-routing around identified problems on the road network - Mike |

Sorry to of 'Double Posted'
Errr I think you ave missed my childish point.
I was having a pop at the utterly useless Traffic service that Mr TT has the cheek to charge for! "can offer dynamic re-routing" ? you bet it does !!
Course this ONLY my opinion...
And I only get anoyed if someone charges me for something that only attempts to ' does what it says on the tin'.
End ! |

'Can offer dynamic re-routing' - providing you log a support call, wait 2 weeks, call them up, queue for 30 minutes to be told the call center is closing and then receive an email saying it can't possibly their problem - it must be a problem with the Mobile Provider.......before you go on every journey!!! |
