|
|
I installed TT3 on my XDA 2 and when I try to run it all that happens is the rotating timer appears and, you guessed it, just rotates!!! TT3 simply does not load.
After waiting minutes for something to happen I am forced to do a soft reset.
Is there a solution to this?
Also, I read of a v3.01 upgrade - what is this and where is it located?
Finally, I can't get my Fortuna clip on gps to talk. It talks during the "Bonding Session" and then stops.
All in all I am starting to think I should have stayed with my Street Pilot 3 |

Did you install the BT fixes for the XDA II? Did you fix the TomTom GPS driver as described in this forum? (Which also has a link to the 3.01 upgrade) _________________ Lutz

Please can you direct me to the above.
Where does it tell how to fix the Tom Tom GPS driver?
I have visited the Tom Tom website and couldn't find any details of the 3.01 upgrade.
Many thanks. |

Problem solved. Thanks for the help.
My TomTom supplier (PDAMODS) informed me that there were known problems with the XDA 2 and blluetooth. They directed me to the following link:
http://bluetooth.i-networx.de/index_e.html
I installed this fix for bluetooth.
I uninstalled TT3 and reinstalled it.
Voila - TT3 works!!! hallelujah!!
I also installed the TT 3.01 upgrade (there is a link to it within this forum)
and I am pleased to say that TT3 still works.
But I do find I sometimes have to do a soft reset when it tries to calculate a new route and just hangs.
Thanks for you help. Is there a fix for it freezing when calculating a new route?
Can I load speed camera locations into TT3?

Hi.
I have got the same problem. Upgraded to new 02 Rom. Installed TT3 to default install with full Uk maps to SD.
TT3 will not run, I get the whirley wheel but no program. eventualy the whole thing locks up forcing a soft reset.
If I run the GPS app by itself it runs OK and conects to my BT Rikline reciver and I get 5 or 6 sats. but if I try to run TT3 Xda locks up.
I have sent a email to Tom Tom. lets see if they have an answer. They state that it works with the XDA II in there blurb after all.
Regards.

Hi All!
Well TomTom have come up with an answer.
They stated that the problem might be with the SD card. If it was a SanDisk made in China. (which it was). They sugested loading a 16mb map in XDA memory and trying that. Did as they said and all now OK.
Tried to install a full 101mb map into another SD card PNY Toshiba made in Taiwan.
With SD card in XDA started map install, after about an hour only about 70% installed and would not go any further. Tried again still the same.
Then loaded map to same card in a card reader pluged into USB port. This time map was Installed but when card was put in XDA TomTom reported no maps Installed....
Then tried to load Full 101mb map onto the SanDisk SD card in the XDA.
This time map loaded Ok, but TomTom would not run.
So.........
Next I copied SanDisk card over onto PNY card. Inserted PNY Card into XDA and Hey! IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope this helps someone.
I have sent TomTom a mesage to give me a list of SD cards that actualy work with TomTom.
Regards

Premo,
there are some SD-Cards which works fine with TTN. For example Toshiba and Panasonic Cards.
Best regards,
